A primary line replacement solution using the Dataflex ViNE Integrated Access Device (IAD) enables Service Providers to deliver a converged VoIP and Data over xDSL or Ethernet. With this solution, a Service Provider gains direct ownership of the customer connection providing new revenue streams and eliminating traditional line and network costs. This direct connection allows service providers to deliver a full set of voice and data features to its customers on its own network. It becomes and fully "equivalent" service to the existing PSTN / ISDN service. Potential advantages to the end customer include reduction in line costs due to convergence of voice and data and the ability to access new services such as conferencing.

Existing customer equipment including PBX ' s and Handsets can be retained and connected directly to the IAD. This includes POTS, FAX and ISDN. Alternatively, the Service Provider can eliminate the PBX and deliver a full range of hosted services to the Customer. The IAD converts the voice calls into a VoIP call and delivers this to the network over ADSL/2+, SHDSL or Ethernet. The ViNE IAD transparently supports a full range of features with a seamless equivalency of service.

The same unit can be configured to connect either via xDSL or Ethernet to the network.

ViNE options include POTS, BRI and PRI interfaces. Multiple ethernet options and optional WLAN offer additional flexibility in deployments.
